Whilst looking at an old photo taken in 1970 of my tiny rural primary school where I and my erstwhile classmates and teachers stood smiling innocently, this music suddenly inflicted itself upon me and I was forced to bring it into being. Although I wrote this piece in 2017 when I was performing exclusively on a classical guitar, I did begin it on a steel string since it came to me when I happened to have one to hand. In many respects the piece might sound better on such an instrument as its style is rather “folky”. There is not one single accidental, so simple is the musical language. I use DADGAD tuning again but the piece is in G major. The music could be seen as an “English waltz” although how clearly that is conveyed depends on the player’s interpretation.
Because of the unusual DADGAD tuning I have employed a scordatura technique of notation using two staves, the upper of which gives the actual pitch of the notes and the lower gives the notes as a type of tablature whereby one can read the music as though it is in standard tuning but the notes written do not actually represent what is heard.

Thank you for your interest in downloading sheet music (some would say the score) - of my compositions.
I am making this available essentially for free, but please do consider a small donation. Writing music takes time that I could devote otherwise, e.g. to gaining my bread and making a living.
You would make me very happy if you could let me know when/where my music is performed, and a video/mp3 would just be the icing on the cake.
If you insist on "No donation, no notification, just gimme...", then please go right ahead and steal my music.
Many thanks,
Stephen
